| "The cash-for-vote scandal has raised serious questions about journalistic ethics followed by the TV news channel which recorded it. The right thing for the channel to have done was to show it and let the people draw their own conclusion," leader of the Opposition LK Advani said. | ||||||
| He demanded that the Speaker immediately convene a meeting of the leaders of all parties, show them the tape and institute a time-bound inquiry. "The outcome of this inquiry must be known before Parliament convenes for the monsoon session in August," Advani said. | ||||||
| In fact, many Opposition leaders had demanded at the all-party meeting, convened by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Tuesday, that the tape must be shown to all MPs before the trust vote. On Wednesday, four Left parties -- the CPM, CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc -- also demanded that the tape be made public. | ||||||
| There was, however, confusion over the timing of the news channel delivering the tape to the Speaker's office. While the channel said on Tuesday that the tape would be handed to the Speaker "soon", Advani said it had not reach the Speaker's office till 1 pm on Wednesday. "This raises great apprehensions in everyone's mind about the possibility of doctoring of the tape," Advani said, demanding an immediate enquiry into the cash-for-vote scam. Immediately after this, the channel authorities called up senior leaders in the BJP to inform them that the tape had been delivered to the Speaker's office on Wednesday afternoon. | ||||||
| BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley believes there is "clinching evidences" in the CD that were "conclusive for conviction". Those involved in laying the trap revealed that a reporter and cameraman of the news channel caught on tape Samajwadi Party MP Reoti Raman Singh making the "offer" to BJP MP Ashok Argal. It has been claimed that Raman told Argal that he could speak to SP general secretary Amar Singh about the money. | ||||||
| The CD also shows, claim BJP leaders, their party MPs going inside and coming out of Amar Singh's house, where they reportedly talked to him about the "offer" and also spoke to Ahmed Patel, the political secretary to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The tape reportedly also shows a close aide of an SP leader coming to Argal's house and making the payment, which the latter showed in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. | ||||||
| "There are several eyewitnesses to these events. The reporter and the cameraman of the news channel and the drivers who drove the BJP MPs to Amar Singh's house will substantiate what our MPs are saying. The records of the cell phone used to make the BJP MPs speak to Ahmed Patel and Amar Singh would also reveal many things," Jaitley said. He claimed that there was evidence in the CD of the offer being made to the BJP MPs, the meeting taking place and the delivery of the money. | ||||||

The "next" has already started by government to 'establish' its so called "Secular" credentials.. They have filed a affidate again in SC on Ram-Sethu that Ram himself destroyed the Ram -Sethu!! Earleir Ram didn't exist for them now he suddenly starting to exist and he destroyed that sethu!
Very clearly, they are Now in election mode. This Cash on Parliament would be "drowned" in various committees or "investigations"! Mayawati will be targetted fully,... SOme sting operations agains NDA or opposition will re-appear.. Tahleka man will work overtime...
Overall we are in for interesting times ahead!!

Agreed in principle that mere follwoing the ideologies don't help.
However I am still not happy and convinced with your selective approach towards corruption.
When MMS found to be involved in this mess, you say "Let's don't have Favorites and have assumptions!!! " You want others to "not advocate who is CLEAN and who isn't!!! But when it come to Advani giving certificate of "involved" in Hawal becomes so easy for you!!
You wrote a wondeful poem Talaash... on corruption and please think you judge based on that if this stand of yours is consistent.!! Can you have selective standards on it.
Let's agree( I am sure you will) that whatever happened in Parliament wouldn't have possible if MMS had vetoed it like Vajpayee did in 1998 when his govt. fell by merely 1 vote that too of a sitting CM (Girdhar Gamag of Assam of Congress) also voted as Lok Sabha -- sepeaker Balyogi allowed him to exercise his conscions!
Also, almost all agree that whatever happened was NOT stage-managed.. CNN IBN did an sting too (some cassettes are deposited as a proof)!!
